Steamed beef in oyster sauce recipe

This is another Chinese steamed recipe for you.

Beef brisket      500 gram
Carrot              1
Potato starch   1 tablespoon

Steaming ingredients 1:
Ginger        2 slices
Wine          1 tablespoon
Star anise  1 tablespoon

Steaming ingredients 2:
Ginger                 2 slices
Wine                   1 tablespoon
Dark soy sauce   1 tablespoon
Sugar                  1/2 tablespoon

Oyster sauce   1 tablespoon
Sugar              1/2 tablespoon
Wine                1 tablespoon
Sesame oil      1/4 tablespoon

1. Scald beef in boiling water, rinse under cold water, then place in a bowl. Add Steaming ingredients 1 and 2 cups of hot water. Bring water in the steamer to a boil, steam the beef for 1 hour. Turn off the heat and let it steep until cool. Reserve the steaming liquid.

2. Peel carrot and cut into small pieces.

3. Arrange the carrots on the beef. Add Steaming ingredients 2 and 1 cup of the beef steaming liquid. Bring water in the steamer to a boil. Steam beef for 40 minutes until the beef is soft. Invert beef onto a plate.

4. Add Seasonings to the steaming liquid, bring to a boil. Thicken with potato starch mixture. Pour the sauce over the beef to serve.

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time      : 1 hour 40 minutes

If you do not like the strong smell of the beef, adding spices such as star anise and ginger to steam with the beef will help to remove the beef smell.
